$20/month per store · Unlimited employees · Cancel anytime
GPS on every phone punch
Clock-ins are checked against the store's geofence, and you can require people to be on site.
Kiosk mode
A tablet or computer at the counter becomes a shared time clock, with an optional personal PIN.
Breaks on a timer
Meal and rest breaks are timed against the store's break rules, with optional hard enforcement.
Exceptions flagged
Late, early, unscheduled, and missed punches are flagged against the published schedule.
A shared time clock at the counter
Open kiosk mode on the store tablet and associates tap their name to clock in, start a break, or clock out. The day's schedule sits beside the roster, so everyone can see who's on.
- Choose who can open kiosk mode, down to specific people
- Require a personal PIN for every punch
- Use a dedicated kiosk login that only shows the time clock
Clock-out that catches mistakes
At clock-out, associates confirm they got their breaks or explain what happened, and they can ask for a correction if a time is wrong. Nothing changes payroll until a manager approves it.
- Break attestation on every shift
- Correction requests instead of texts to the manager
- Approve or deny from Time adjustments
See the floor from anywhere
Home shows who is clocked in, on break, late, or working without a shift, so exceptions get handled the same day instead of at payroll.
- Live status for everyone on today's schedule
- Unscheduled clock-ins and missed punches flagged
- Managers can clock someone in or out when needed
Phone, kiosk, or both
Some stores want every associate clocking in from their own phone. Others want one station at the counter so nobody clocks in from the parking lot. Most land somewhere in between.
TimelyHours lets you choose per store. App clock-in can be open to everyone, limited to managers and owners, limited to owners, or turned off so the kiosk is the only way in. Kiosk mode stays available to the whole team whenever a station is open.
If the kiosk tablet can't get a location fix, associates can still clock in. Those punches are tagged as kiosk punches and skip the location check, so a weak signal never stops a shift from starting.
Guides on clock-in and exceptions
GPS clock-in with geofencing: how to set it up for a retail store
A geofence turns every clock-in into a quiet location check. Here is how to size the boundary, where to set it, and how to handle out-of-range punches.
Clear open time clock exceptions every morning
Late clocks, missed shifts, and out-of-range punches pile up quietly. A five-minute morning review keeps payroll clean and reports trustworthy.
Export payroll-ready timesheets without retyping hours
If you are copying hours into another sheet by hand, you are paying a tax every period and inviting typos into your payroll.
Meal and rest break rules by state: what store owners need to know
There is no federal meal break requirement. Whether you owe a break, how long it runs, and whether it is paid all depend on the state your store operates in.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I stop people from clocking in from home?
- Yes. Phone clock-ins are checked against the store's geofence, and you can require people to be on site. You can also limit app clock-in to managers and owners, or turn it off so everyone uses the kiosk.
- What do I need for kiosk mode?
- A tablet or computer with a web browser at the counter. Open kiosk mode from Home in the web app, or sign in with a dedicated kiosk login that only ever shows the time clock.
- Do associates need a PIN at the kiosk?
- Only if you turn it on. With employee PINs required, tapping a name asks for that person's six-digit PIN before anything happens. Anyone without a PIN sets one up at the kiosk after confirming their login.
- How do associates fix a wrong punch?
- At clock-out they can request a correction with the right times and a reason. It goes to a manager, and payroll uses the corrected times only after it is approved. The original punches stay on record.
- What counts as late or early?
- You set the grace period for each store. By default a clock-in more than five minutes after the scheduled start is late, and clocking in or out more than five minutes before the shift starts or ends is flagged as early.
